
The deal between the United States and South Korea obliges Seoul to buy LNG for one hundred billion dollars
The United States and South Korea have signed an agreement obliging Seoul to invest $350 billion in American projects and purchase energy resources, President Donald Trump said on the Truth Social network.
“I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has concluded a comprehensive trade agreement with the Republic of Korea. According to the agreement, South Korea will provide the United States with $350 billion for investments that will be under the control of the United States and selected by me personally as president,” he wrote.
Other provisions of the document:
• South Korea will also purchase LNG and other energy resources for $100 billion.
• It will fully open the market for American goods, including automotive equipment (cars and trucks) and agricultural products.
• In the United States, there will be a 15% duty on goods from South Korea.
• American suppliers, on the contrary, will be given tariff-free access.
In addition, Trump added, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung will visit the White House in the next two weeks.
