Apple CEO Tim Cook said that soon smartphones and smartwatches produced by the company will be equipped with glass made in the USA.
“For the first time, every new iPhone, absolutely every new Apple Watch sold anywhere in the world, will contain a glass coating made in Kentucky,” Cook said at the White House at a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
He said that “the largest and most advanced glass production line for smartphones” will be built in this state.
Apple is moving part of its production to the United States due to the threat of US sanctions against China. As Trump said earlier, the company promised to make investments in the construction and organization of production in the United States in the amount of $ 600 million. Experts admit that this will make the goods it produces more expensive.
