The world needs a more equitable system of global governance. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping at an expanded SCO meeting in Tianjin.
“I would like to put forward an initiative on global governance and work with all countries to jointly create a more just and equitable system of global governance, as well as create a community with a common destiny for humanity,” Xi Jinping said.
Earlier today, a statement was adopted in Tianjin by the leaders of the SCO member states, which states that the UN should remain the central coordinating organization in the process of forming a democratic, multipolar world order.
“We firmly advocate the formation of a representative, democratic, just and multipolar world order based on universally recognized principles of international law, cultural and civilizational diversity, mutually beneficial and equal cooperation between states with the central coordinating role of the United Nations,” the statement said on the SCO website.
