US President Donald Trump will not attend the G20 summit in South Africa, he said at a press conference at the White House.
According to the head of state, Vice President Jay Dee Vance will represent the United States instead.
“I’m not going, J.D. Vance is going,” Trump said.
Back in July, Trump admitted that he would not attend the summit because of “problems with South Africa.”
“They have a very bad policy. A policy that kills a lot of people. So I guess I probably won’t go,” he explained.
In February, Trump decided to stop any aid or assistance to South Africa due to violations of the rights of descendants of colonists living there. The African country passed a law that allows the government to confiscate the property of Africans from ethnic minorities.
The G20 summit will be held in November in Johannesburg.
