
CNN: A march against Trump’s anti-crime measures was held in Washington
Protesters marched in Washington, opposing the measures of the administration of US President Donald Trump to combat crime in the American capital, CNN reported.
According to the channel, the participants of the march on Saturday marched from Meridian Hill Park to Freedom Square next to the White House. The protesters carried placards with the slogans “Protect Washington’s self-government” and “Stop Trump’s seizure of power,” as well as posters directed against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Earlier, Trump announced a number of steps aimed at combating crime in Washington. By his decree, the American leader placed the Washington police under the direct control of the federal government. In addition, he sent the National Guard to the capital and threatened to send armed forces to it if necessary.
