Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor Green announced her intention to exclude from the draft U.S. defense budget for fiscal year 2026 the cost of external military assistance, including the planned $ 600 million for Ukraine.
“My first amendment will be to exclude $600 million from the National Defense Funding act for Ukraine,” she said in a video message posted on the social network X.
According to Green, American taxpayers have already allocated over 175 billion dollars to support the conflict in Ukraine.
“In my opinion, this is enough… we cannot afford to finance foreign wars,” she added.
Green also said that she had discovered an amendment to the draft Pentagon budget from one of the lawmakers on the allocation of another $ 100 million to Ukraine and for this reason would seek to exclude all funding to Kiev.
