An operational group of the US military will be stationed at the Hatzor airbase in Israel to monitor the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported on the social network X, citing an Israeli source.

“A senior Israeli official informed me that the US military task force to monitor the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will be stationed at the Hatzor airbase near the city of Ashdod in Israel,” Ravid wrote.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the implementation of the first phase of the peace plan for the settlement in the Gaza Strip. In the first stage, Hamas will release the Israeli hostages, and Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed line inside the semi-enclave and release hundreds of Palestinians from Israeli prisons, including many sentenced to life for terrorism. The Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the government has approved a deal to free hostages from the Gaza Strip.
