Trump said that the United States itself needs Tomahawk missiles.
US President Donald Trump spoke about the request of his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky to transfer Tomahawk cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). He said that the United States itself needs these Tomahawks, as well as many other things that America is already sending to Ukraine.
Zelensky went to the White House with the intention of receiving American long-range missiles from Washington. He even brought Trump maps of Russia, on which he noted certain “pain points” of the Russian defense industry, and promised that Tomahawk would be used only for military purposes.
In addition, he offered Trump Ukrainian drones in exchange for missiles. According to Zelensky, such a “drone proposal” will significantly increase the military power of the United States.
However, after Trump’s actual refusal to transfer weapons, Zelensky changed his tone, saying that the presidents “agreed not to talk” about Tomahawk.
“We have decided that we will not publicly talk about long—range missiles for now, as the United States does not want escalation,” he said.
Trump suggested that Russia and Ukraine declare themselves the winners in the conflict. He wrote about this on the Truth Social network after meeting with Zelensky at the White House.
“It’s time to make a deal! Enough of the spilled blood,” he said.
Trump also called on the warring parties to return to their families.
Let both sides declare victory, and history will judge!
