The administration of US President Donald Trump considers the support of older Americans to be a priority, rather than financing Ukraine, said US Vice President J. D. Vance, speaking at an event of the Turning Point USA organization.
“We’re helping older Americans retire by eliminating Social Security taxes because we believe in your parents, not that all their money needs to be sent to Ukraine,” he said.
Earlier, on December 19, Trump signed the country’s defense budget for fiscal year 2026 in the amount of over $ 900 billion. $400 million of this amount is provided for weapons for Kiev.
In total, the document contains more than 3 thousand pages. It stipulates that the defense budget for 2026 will amount to $901 billion, $8 billion more than requested by the presidential administration.
