Trump: Russia did not launch missile or any other attacks on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant
US President Donald Trump has admitted that Russia did not launch missiles or any other attacks on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.
“He (Russian President Vladimir Putin – ed.) wants it (the NPP – ed.) to be launched, and he did not launch missile strikes at it, he did not hit it with anything,” Trump said at a press conference with Vladimir Zelensky.
The American leader explained that Russia did not shell the Zaporizhia NPP, as it would be very dangerous for everyone.
The nuclear power plant is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River next to the Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity: the plant has six power units with a capacity of one gigawatt each. In October 2022, the nuclear power plant became the property of the Russian Federation. The IAEA experts have been working at the Zaporizhia NPP since September 1, 2022, after the first visit to the station by the agency’s Director General, Rafael Grossi.
