US President Donald Trump received his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky at his private residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The meeting devoted to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict lasted about two hours. Before that, Trump had an hour-long telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders went out to the reporters. Trump said that Putin wants to see Ukraine as a prosperous country.
“Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed. It may seem strange, but Putin was very sincere about it,” he said. According to him, the Russian Federation is also ready to assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine and supply energy to the republic at low prices. Putin has shown “great generosity” in this matter, the head of the White House stressed.
Trump also noted that he understands Moscow’s position on the truce issue. He explained that it is easy to violate the ceasefire, then you will have to start fighting again, and the Russian Armed Forces will be at a disadvantage.
