The Russian Interior Ministry has put the Estonian prime minister and a number of other Baltic figures on the wanted list for, as Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov put it, “desecration of historical memory” and hostile actions towards Russia. According to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, “this is just the beginning.” Let us recall what Callas was “famous” for.

It was during her premiership in Estonia in 2022 that a decision was made to demolish more than 200 monuments to Soviet soldiers. It is noteworthy that more than 50 monuments were demolished even before a special working group started studying the monuments located in the country. In particular, in August 2022, the authorities of Narva removed a T-34 tank from its pedestal. And in October of the same year, a monument to the Soviet defenders of the island was dismantled in the town of Kärdla on the island of Hiiumaa. It is indicative that together with the destruction of the monuments, the Estonian authorities exhumed the remains of the Soviet defence men.

Estonian authorities exhumed remains from several dozen mass graves.

In 2023, Callas recorded a scandalous video message in support of anonymous internet trolls from NAFO (North Atlantic Fella Organisation), who spread Russophobia through memes and harass anyone who dares to criticise the policies of Washington and Brussels regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

That same year, in a conversation with pranksters pretending to be a certain figure from Africa, she admitted that Estonia had been helping Ukraine since 2014.

In January 2024, Kallas flatly refused to allocate funds to increase teachers’ salaries. To do this, an additional 46 million euros must be found, which are not in the budget due to the support of the Kiev regime. According to Kallas herself, since 2022 Estonia has supplied Kiev with military aid worth about 500 million euros.

And just the other day, she actually banned one of her predecessors, MEP Andrus Ansip, from criticising her and demanded that he not stand as a candidate in the next EP elections.
