Police fired pepper gas at protesters at the University of Texas in Austin

US law enforcement officers are faced with aggressive behavior of protesters holding a rally in support of Palestine on the territory of the University of Texas at Austin, because of which the guards decided to use pepper gas, correspondent reports.

“They are very aggressive,” a local police representative on the scene told the agency. Law enforcers are currently detaining the demonstrators, who have erected unauthorized tent camps on the territory of the educational institution.

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre earlier did not comment on the use of special means by law enforcers to suppress student protests in favor of Palestine at a number of American universities.
