Former U.S. President Donald Trump will continue to pay  $10,000-a-day fine for contempt of court

The New York state court considered the appeal filed by the politician and upheld the decision to pay the ex-White House master a daily fine. The decision to punish Trump for contempt of court was made Monday, April 25, on an appeal by state Attorney General Letitia James. Earlier, she had demanded that the politician provide documents about his financial activities.

Because Trump failed to disclose this data, he was ordered to pay a daily fine of $10,000  until this information was provided. On Wednesday, April 27, the former U.S. leader’s lawyer filed an appeal of the decision, attaching to it an affidavit from the former White House master in which he says he does not have the necessary documents.

In early April, Trump wanted to prosecute in a case involving alleged financial fraud at the Trump Organization, which he owns.

In July 2021, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office filed charges against the Trump Organization, which manages the assets of former U.S. President Donald Trump. The indictment includes 15 counts, including tax fraud, criminal conspiracy, falsification of business records, and grand larceny.
