Bloomberg: actor DiCaprio invested in artificial meat company

Leonardo DiCaprio, famous american actor has made investments in artificial meat company Neat Food Co. The star of “Survivor” and “Titanic” became a strategic investor, specifies Bloomberg.

DiCaprio explained his decision to join the company by his concern for the environment.

“Disrupting the food system we’re used to with sustainable alternatives is one of the key steps to reducing global carbon emissions,” he said.

Neat Food Co. has been around since 2019, with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton as one of its founders. The company is planning a massive expansion of its product sales – by the end of 2022, the number of chain establishments will increase from eight in England to 42 around the world, including in the U.S. To enter the global market, the producer of artificial meat needs to attract additional 30 million dollars, some of which will allocate DiCaprio.

In 2021, DiCaprio invested in two artificial meat startups, Aleph Farms and Mosa Meat, the actor also previously invested in a similar company, Beyond Meat.
