ABC News: Australian professor with three colleagues taken hostage in Papua New Guinea
An Australian professor with three of his colleagues has been taken hostage by an armed group in Papua New Guinea, Australian television station ABC News reported.
“An Australian professor and three of his colleagues are believed to have been taken hostage in a remote area of Papua New Guinea,” the report said.
It is specified that the group demanded a ransom for the release of the Australian professor, and the PNG program coordinator and two University of Papua New Guinea graduates taken hostage.
