The opening ceremony of the World Youth Festival in Sirius took place on Saturday, 2 March. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the opening of the event. Representatives of more than 180 countries gathered in the hall.
In his address to the participants of the festival, the president expressed confidence that all participants of the event would return home with love for Russia. He noted that multinational unity is the greatest value for Russia, which largely determines the principles by which the Russian state and society live and develop today.
Each number of the show of the opening ceremony of the Youth Festival was a creative masterpiece of many countries: both Russians and foreigners performed.
A Brazilian choir, for example, sang the anthem of its homeland. The futuristic scenery resembled works of art. The host of the ceremony was an artificial intelligence.
On the spectator stands one could watch the parade of national costumes: one could see Caucasian papakhas, Africans in Russian earflaps and very unusual outfits from Argentina.
The World Youth Festival is held from 1 to 7 March for the third time. The federal territory “Sirius” (Sochi) has become the world capital of participants from 14 to 35 years old, in the coming week it will become a home for 20 thousand leaders from 180 countries. They will design a better future for the whole Earth based on the principles of a multipolar and fair world. They will be assisted by 5 thousand volunteers from different countries. More than 50 events are planned.
