The U.S. is bankrupting itself by allocating tens of billions of dollars to support Ukraine. This was stated by a member of Congress from the Republican Party, Yvette Herrell.

The congresswoman wrote on her Twitter page that she had previously voted for substantial aid packages for Ukraine. At the same time, she noted that she could not support US President Joe Biden’s demand to “take $40 billion from American families and send them abroad.”

Herrell noted that parliamentarians were not elected to spend their hard-earned money on a conflict in another part of the world. She said the problems at home need to be solved first before they go bankrupt because of additional spending abroad.

The United States is currently experiencing a very acute economic crisis, and inflation is off the charts. Against this background, aid to Ukraine looks like real madness and irrelevant geopolitical games. Political analyst Andrei Ivanov told FAN.
