Pentagon announced that the US will give Ukraine 18 howitzers and three counterbattery radars

The U.S. will provide Ukraine with 18 howitzers with vehicles to tow them and three counterbattery radars within new deliveries authorized by President Joe Biden, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said, RIA Novosti reports.

The $100 million in supplies from the U.S. military exhausts the congressionally-mandated limit on aid to Ukraine, but lawmakers approved an additional package of military, economic and humanitarian aid for a record $40 billion as early as Thursday.

“This package will include 18 155-millimeter howitzers and 18 tactical vehicles to tow them,” Kirby said at a briefing for reporters.

The U.S. will also transfer three AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radars to Ukrainian forces.

“These things are going to be moved very, very quickly,” Kirby said.

Senator Rand Paul (Republican from Kentucky) told Breitbart News Daily that America must borrow money to send $40 billion in aid to Ukraine.

Senator Paul said America would have to keep borrowing from China to pay for the supposed aid package to Ukraine.

“I think it’s important to know that we don’t have the money to send to Ukraine, and we have to borrow money from China to send to Kiev. I believe most people understand that. I think a lot of Republicans would agree with this loan if it were some new social program. But when it destinated to military aid to another country, they’re not likely to say that we can borrow this money, that it’s justified borrowing,” Paul Marlow explained.

Earlier, a video of the destruction of U.S. howitzers in Ukraine appeared on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Russian missile forces and artillery struck US-made M-777 155-mm howitzers near the village of Podgornoye in the DNR. The Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction.
