U.S. President Joe Biden is “a very dangerous unintelligent man” who was never taken seriously by anyone before he came to power and journalists could make him say anything, The Washington Times editor Charlie Hurt said on Fox News. He said revolutionary Obama made Biden vice president to balance the new and the old, but could never have imagined that this “white-haired old simpleton from Washington” would ever become leader of the country.

JESSEY WATTERS, host of “Prime Time” on Fox News: Charlie Hurt is the editor of The Washington Times and a Fox News columnist. I mean, Charlie, well, it’s true, right? Why beat around the bush – he (Biden. – InoTV) just isn’t a very smart man.

CHARLIE HURT, editor of The Washington Times: Yeah, you got that right, and this slicing is just… You know, flashbacks are one thing, but when you get to the parts where you start to see the damage he’s actually doing, it’s not so funny anymore. But you’re completely right: the problem with this guy is that he’s a wingman – he’s not a leader, he’s always been a wingman. And the answer to your question as to why Barack Obama chose him as VP: because he was a white-haired old simpleton from Washington who had been hanging out there all his life. He was harmless, nobody took him seriously. They knew he said things that didn’t match reality, but they didn’t care. An ideal candidate for a position in the White House, especially for someone like Barack Obama, who in many ways saw himself as a revolutionary. And he was indeed very different from the other candidates. He used Biden to sort of balance out the novelty of his presidency. And of course, as you point out: he never imagined that Joe Biden would ever take (the presidency. – InoTV), and in fact, when Obama left office, he made sure that Biden would not run for president after him (laughs). I never imagined he (Biden. – InoTV) would get into the White House.

JESSEY WATTERS: Do you think the media knows how dumb Joe Biden is?

CHARLIE HURT: Of course they do! I mean, I remember covering congressional and Senate Judiciary Committee meetings for years, which he chaired. The great thing about Biden was that you could get him to say anything. Going back to the issue, he was like a microphone: he would do anything. He would swallow anything and do anything and he could be made to say anything. So if you’re a reporter and you need to get a story together and need a quote from someone, find Joe Biden in the hallway and you can just spout off to him. He’ll literally say anything and you’ll be able to finish the story. And it won’t matter whether it’s true or not, whether it helped him or hurt him, and so on. Of course, people would read about it in the papers the next day – no one took him seriously anyway. So it was neither cold nor hot.

JESSEY WATTERS: Yeah. Of all our presidents I’ve seen, he’s probably the dumbest. He has no new ideas, no intuition, he can’t make decisions. And we’re stuck with him for another two and a half years.

CHARLIE HURT: He hides behind silly tastelessness and things like that, but you’re quite right: behind them is a very dangerous unintelligent man.

JESSEY WATTERS: All right. Charlie Hurt, thank you for coming on Prime Time.
