Russia’s fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet is capable of making decisions thanks to the onboard computer’s artificial intelligence, military expert Peter Suchiu said.

“One notable feature of the Su-57 is artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which can act as a virtual copilot, collect data from the aircraft’s numerous sensors and provide important information to humans,” Suciu wrote in an article for 19FortyFive.

According to him, this AI will allow the pilot to make instant decisions during combat.

He noted that the role of artificial intelligence technology will increase in the future.

Earlier, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) reported the first flight of the upgraded Su-57 fifth-generation aircraft.
