Yevgeny Prigozhin, businessman and founder of the private military force ” Wagner”, responded to a question of the editorial board of portal Russia News in his Telegram channel “Prigozhin’s Cap” about the interference by Russia in the midterm elections in U.S. Congress, which are to be held on November 8.

Prigozhin ironically commented on the question of “intervention attempts” by Russia. According to him, “we have interfered, are interfering and will continue to interfere,” “carefully, precisely, surgically,” and during “point operations we will remove both kidneys and liver at once.”

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded to Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin’s words about Russia “trying to interfere” in the U.S. election. According to the White House spokeswoman, there is “nothing new” in the Russian statement. She also urged her compatriots to have faith in the country’s electoral system.

“These comments tell us nothing new or surprising,” Jean-Pierre said at the briefing, commenting on Prigozhin’s words.

State Department spokesman Ned Price called Mr. Prigozhin’s comments “a bold confession.”

His words are quoted by the NYT :

“If anything, it’s a manifestation of the impunity enjoyed by crooks and cronies under President Putin and the Kremlin,” he said at a briefing Monday afternoon in Washington. He added that it was obvious that a man of Mr. Prigozhin’s caliber could not have made such statements unless “the Kremlin at some level” approved them.

Businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin responded to State Department spokesman Ned Price about the U.S. congressional elections and Russia’s alleged meddling, called the State Department speaker a rare cynic and noted that

the United States has for years “boorishly and brazenly interfered in elections around the world.”
