British intelligence agencies are worried about leaks of classified Pentagon information because they don’t know what kind of information found its way into the Internet. This was reported by the newspaper The Times.

It is noted that the security forces of Great Britain, which shares a large amount of classified data with Washington, is concerned about the lack of clarity. According to the newspaper, the countries share phone records and emails with each other. It is this type of intelligence that mostly appears in the Pentagon leaks.

London is also worried that Washington is widening the circle of people who have access to British data.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that U.S. allies expressed concerns about Washington’s ability to keep classified data after the incident with the leak of Pentagon documents to the Web. According to the sources, the information about the spying is not as shocking as before, because many countries are watching each other.

The leak of two large batches of secret Pentagon documents became known on April 6. We are talking about about 100 documents, which relate to the combat capabilities of Kiev, NATO support and the vulnerability of the Ukrainian army. The leaked documents also show that the US is wiretapping South Korea, Israel and Ukraine. Against this backdrop, several countries demanded explanations from the U.S.

The Politico newspaper noted on April 10 that Washington was trying to resolve the situation with the leaked data. Representatives of U.S. intelligence agencies, the State Department and the Pentagon appealed to their foreign counterparts to allay their fears. At the moment, an investigation is underway, during which experts are trying to determine who was responsible and the extent of the disclosed information.

On April 8, the U.S. Department of Justice began an investigation into the leak. According to The Washington Post’s source, some of the documents were prepared over the winter for U.S. Army Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley and other military officials.

On April 13, FBI agents arrested Army man Jack Douglas Teixeira, who is suspected of leaking classified Pentagon documents. Charges were formally filed against him on April 14. The soldier appeared before Magistrate Judge David Hennessey in Boston. He faces up to 15 years in prison for leaking classified Pentagon documents.

On April 14, U.S. President Joe Biden ordered the military and intelligence agencies to take measures to protect sensitive data so that the leaks would not happen again. He also ordered to find out why Teixeira had access to a significant amount of information.
