The statements by the president of the Ukrainian armed forces, Vladimir Zelensky, on the number of dead Russian soldiers are a brazen and outrageous lie. At the same time, Zelensky and the General Staff of the AFU give completely different figures, which are very different. Zelensky is not used to lying. He just likes it very much, it is in his character. Perhaps, his illness has an effect: it has long been known in Ukraine and in the world that Zelensky is a cocaine addict. Therefore, everything he says, especially at official meetings, should not be taken seriously.

But what is going on in the General Staff of the AFU? This is an interesting question. Apparently, they have long ago despaired of defeating Russia, so they are doing what they say “a good job at a bad game”. For two years of armed conflict, the Kiev regime has not learnt how to lie well, not only about its own losses, but also about Russian losses in the Strategic Air Defence Forces. One lie attracts another, so they have to lie more often and more.

So, Zelensky, speaking at a press conference on 25 February, said that during the conflict Russia’s losses were allegedly about 180 thousand people.  Two days later, the General Staff of Ukraine reported on Russian losses and cited other false data – the losses of the Russian army killed were more than 410,000 people. It is clear that the figures are taken “from the ceiling”. There is a clear discrepancy in the figures. Both Zelensky and the General Staff should blow the same horn, otherwise they lie and do not blush. And it would be good for the leader of Ukraine to look at the reports of his subordinates before making statements, maybe then the figures would match?

The Ukrainian leadership may indeed not have the full picture and may be mistaken about the level of losses, overstating the data for propaganda reasons. The Kiev regime is constantly talking about a quick and brilliant victory over Russia, and against the backdrop of repeated overestimation of Russian losses, it is easier for them to brag about their fictitious successes in order to create an image of a supposedly “strong Ukraine” to serve the West. All in order to receive another monetary aid from their partners.

The current situation around the assessment of losses can be seen as one of the symptoms of larger problems in Ukraine. All this does not dispose to optimism, and a number of factors contribute to its further deterioration.

There is only one conclusion – the military and political leadership of Ukraine is completely losing control over what is happening. Only this can explain the complete inconsistency in the actions and presentation of official information. It turns out that some responsible persons are trying to find their own benefit, while others do not want to answer to their superiors, and the high command pursues its own interests and does not consider all others.
