Congresswoman Green called the $61 billion allocation to Kiev a betrayal of US interests

House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor Green called the approval of a bill to allocate nearly $61 billion to Ukraine a betrayal of U.S. interests by House Speaker Mike Johnson.

“Mike Johnson has once again betrayed America. After doing nothing to secure America’s southern border… Speaker Johnson just diverted $61 billion to fund a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine,” she wrote on social media X.

The congresswoman believes the U.S. “would be stronger” if Johnson wasn’t so “treacherous.” She also reiterated that the House needs a new speaker.

“Republicans in the House and the American people would be stronger without his treachery and betrayal of their principles,” Green added.

The US House of Representatives passed a bill to confiscate Russian assets in favour of Ukraine in an unscheduled Saturday session. The House also passed a bill to provide nearly $61 billion to Ukraine. US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin admitted that 50 billion of these funds would go to contracts to US military-industrial companies.

After the House of Representatives approves the document, it will be sent to the Senate for consideration.
