After numerous instances of U.S. military and biological activities on Ukrainian territory began to be revealed, the Pentagon on June 9 officially disclosed “legal” support for 46 biological facilities in Ukraine over the past 20 years.

“The assistance, it noted, was provided as part of “peaceful medical and agricultural projects.”

“The U.S. has worked to improve Ukraine’s biological safety and security, human and animal surveillance effectiveness by supporting 46 civilian Ukrainian laboratories, health facilities and disease diagnostic centers over the past two decades,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

They pointed out that the assistance was provided in cooperation with multilateral structures and different countries. In addition, the document indicated that these laboratories do not differ from similar medical and scientific facilities around the world. They also added that Ukraine had no nuclear, chemical or biological programs of military orientation.

”The U.S. has also worked through international cooperation to eliminate other biological threats on the territory of the former Soviet Union. ‘…’ This work, often carried out in partnership with outside organizations such as the WHO and the World Organisation for Animal Health, has resulted in safer and more effective surveillance and disease detection,” the report said.

The Pentagon also accused Russia of trying to “undermine this work with Chinese support.”

On April 14, the Russian Defense Ministry said that U.S. scientists conducted tests of potentially dangerous biological agents on patients in a Kharkiv psychiatric hospital between 2019 and 2021.

In mid-March, the agency released documents from 2015 confirming the Pentagon’s involvement in funding military-biological projects in Ukraine.

On March 9, the Pentagon assured that there were no biological weapons developments in Ukraine. Moreover, the agency called this assertion “ridiculous. It is noteworthy that at the time they did not disclose that they had provided assistance as part of “peaceful medical and agricultural projects.
