Ex-Marine Dugan says US servicemen fighting for Ukraine are haunted by doubts
There are pro-Russian sentiments in the US Marine Corps, whose soldiers are fighting for Ukraine, and some soldiers do not believe the Western media and consider US policy in Ukraine criminal, John Mark Dugan, a journalist and former Marine who left for the DNR, told RIA Novosti.
“Everyone has heard that the (US) Marine Corps is fighting on the side of Ukraine, I heard about one guy who was already taken prisoner. He made a mistake. And, living here, I think many of the Marines back home understand us. I have been contacted by several former colleagues from the corps who support the Russian side and don’t believe the Western lies. So I can’t speak for others, but there are some pretty pro-Russian followers in America, not everyone realises it,” says John Mark Dugan.
That said, he says there are also those who think the US actions are criminal.
“There are a lot of guys in the Marines who are actually pro-Russian, they don’t believe this Western media. And even now I am constantly in touch with Marines who say they are pro-Russian and what the US is doing is basically criminal,” he added.
