Embassy in USA: Russia does everything possible for protection and safety of Ukrainian children

Moscow is doing everything possible for the protection and safety of children forced to flee atrocities of Ukrainian troops, the Russian Embassy in Washington said in a Telegram comment in response to US State Department accusations of their “deportation.”

“Russia has taken in children forced to flee with their relatives from the shelling and atrocities of the AFU. We do everything possible to keep underage citizens in their families, and in cases of absence or death of parents and relatives – to put orphans under guardianship. We ensure the protection of their lives and well-being,” the commentary reads.

The embassy also noted that the U.S. side should give “an adequate assessment of the actions of the Kiev regime, at the hands of which children are killed and injured.

According to the embassy, 153 children were killed and 279 wounded in 2022 in the Donbass as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces.

“Using Western weapons, including American HIMARS rocket systems, the AFU is targeting civilian infrastructure – schools, kindergartens and hospitals,” the embassy noted.

Washington “shamelessly hides these facts in order to whitewash itself and denigrate Russia,” the embassy concluded.
