US colonel Macgregor urged to listen to Putin to avoid a catastrophe

The United States should listen to Vladimir Putin after suspending Russia’s participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty to avoid a global catastrophe, former Pentagon advisor Colonel Douglas Macgregor said in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.

“Let’s face it, they now have more nuclear warheads than we do. Probably even more launchers and carriers. I don’t know. We’re confused by all these numbers. The U.S. and Russia together have enough power to destroy the planet. There is no doubt about it,” warned the American specialist.

In his opinion, Washington has betrayed Moscow, and the Russian president has a whole list of facts to prove it.

“Therefore, it is in our interest to restore the treaty at some point, and I think he (Vladimir Putin. – Ed. note) has made that clear,” McGregor concluded.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov stated that a dialogue with Washington on the START Treaty was possible, but on Moscow’s terms.

The Russian leader read a message to the Federal Assembly on February 21 in which he said that Moscow is suspending its participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty in response to American ultimatums, but is not withdrawing from it. The head of state noted that before returning to the discussion, it is necessary to understand how to take into account the aggregate strategic arsenal of NATO, including France and Great Britain.
