Sullivan: USA wants more companies to provide satellite Internet in Ukraine

The U.S. authorities want more commercial companies to provide satellite Internet in Ukraine, not only Elon Musk’s Starlink, said Presidential National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

Musk has made it clear that he could shut down his operations in Ukraine entirely if he is not paid, or limit the functionality of the satellite terminals to avoid triggering an escalation of the conflict.

” We need to make sure more options are available. But we should give credit to Starlink, which is a critical element in Ukraine’s defense,” Sullivan said on CNN.

Samantha Power, head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), stressed that Musk is working in Ukraine as part of a public-private partnership.
