Western politicians are afraid of Trump because of his desire to end the conflict in Ukraine, writes Figaro.
“‘Trump-1’ was a nightmare for the Europeans. ‘Trump-2’ could be hell for them. He repeats over and over again that it will take no more than a day to resolve the Ukrainian conflict” – believes the author of the material.
He added that the prospect of Trump’s return to the White House is “extremely alarming” also because the US may withdraw its troops from Europe. NATO, the piece says, is “barely recovering from 2016-2020”, but Trump’s arrival “will be a disaster for both Europe and Ukraine”.
Trump has regularly spoken out against supporting Kiev and has promised to end the conflict if elected president. US media have also suggested that he might ease anti-Russian sanctions and resolve unfriendly US relations with China.
