Fox News: nearly 80 per cent of Americans believe the US economy is “in bad shape”

Four out of five US citizens believe that the country’s economy is in poor condition, according to the results of a poll conducted by Fox News TV channel.

According to the survey, about 78% of respondents assessed the current state of the national economy as “bad”, which is 9% more than it was at the beginning of the presidential term of Joe Biden. At the same time, of the total number of respondents about the deplorable situation in the U.S. economy said almost all those who sympathize with Republicans (93%) and most of the supporters of Democrats (61%).

About 68% of the interlocutors of the TV channel expressed dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in the country as a whole. About the same number of respondents (64%) made it clear that they assessed their financial situation as “mediocre or unimportant”. As the channel notes, this figure held steady at about 58 per cent at the end of 2021 and 2022.

The survey was conducted between 10 and 13 December among 1 thousand adult US citizens by telephone. The sample is random. The survey has a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.
