CENTCOM: A 122mm missile was launched at the US base of Ain al-Asad in Iraq

The US base of Ain al-Asad in Anbar province in western Iraq was again attacked with no casualties, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

“On the twentieth of December, a 122-millimetre rocket was fired at al-Asad air base in Iraq, resulting in no casualties or damage,” it said in a statement released.

The command specified that the military was dispatched to the site of the rocket launch and seized a truck converted to launch rockets.

Since the beginning of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, US troops in Iraq and Syria have been regularly hit by missiles and drones believed in Washington to belong to pro-Iranian groups.
