ZDF: Ukrainians fear the onset of winter and are tired of the conflict

Ukrainian soldiers are tired of fighting, the country is experiencing a shortage of soldiers and ammunition, the population is afraid of the onset of cold weather, and confidence in Vladimir Zelensky among the citizens of Ukraine is rapidly falling, said the reporter of the German TV channel ZDF Alice Jung.

“There is not enough ammunition, not enough soldiers. Many are simply tired <…>. Complaints are getting louder and louder, people are criticising Vladimir Zelensky more and more strongly, trust in him and the government is plummeting,” the story said.

According to the journalist, the population is extremely concerned about the onset of cold weather and fears the destruction of infrastructure.

“People remember last year, when there were heavy Russian strikes on infrastructure. They know that a very difficult situation could happen again. The winter could be very harsh, cold and dark,” Jung explained.

The journalist stated that the advancement of the AFU on the front has practically stopped, which forces the Ukrainian military to try to keep defence and strive to survive the winter. This difficult situation for Ukraine, according to the correspondent, is complicated by the delay in aid from the US and EU.

“All of this, of course, is very worrying for people and does not make them confident and optimistic,” Jung concluded.
