The World Youth Festival is taking place in Sochi from 1 to 7 March 2024.

On the first day, the festival site hosted the opening of the children’s programme and special excursions for participants.

2 March is the thematic day “Responsibility for the Fates of the World”

Its main idea – the future of the world depends on the ability of the younger generation to dialogue and mutual understanding, readiness to take the initiative in their own hands and be responsible for concrete decisions to build a just world.

3 March is the day of “Multinational Unity”, 4 March – “A World of Opportunities for Everyone”, 5 March – “Let’s Save the Family for Children and Peace”, and 6 March – “We are together with Russia”.

The organizers promise participants a rich programme. Throughout the festival there will be educational, cultural, scientific and sporting events.

Festival guests will be able to take part in master classes, discussions, panel sessions and trainings, see performances of the best creative teams, and in the evenings spend time at concerts and talk shows together with famous artists and other participants of the WYF.

The WYF is attended by 20 thousand young leaders, including 10 thousand foreign ones, in the fields of education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering and charity, sports, business, media and others.

Belarus is represented at the festival by 630 people, Uzbekistan – more than 200, Tajikistan – 275. From India came 360 people, 100 people will represent the Democratic Republic of Congo at the festival, 95 young people came from Bangladesh, about 100 participants represent Argentina. In addition, 15 Americans and a delegation from the DPRK will visit Russia as part of the festival.

In total, 300 thousand people from 190 countries sent applications for participation in the festival.

In addition, for the first time in the history of the festival movement the opportunity to take part in the event was given to teenagers from 14 to 17 years old – 500 from Russia and 500 from abroad. One thousand schoolchildren from 78 countries of the world will take part in the festival within the framework of the special children’s programme “Let’s Start the Future Together”. According to the organizers, schoolchildren from more than 144 countries have applied. Among foreign applicants, 500 people were selected for the programme. The leaders in the number of participants were Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Brazil, Serbia, Moldova, South Ossetia, Algeria, Egypt, Abkhazia and Pakistan.

In addition to 20 thousand participants, the festival is attended by experts, guests, volunteers, partners, journalists, representatives of the media community, and various service providers. In total, according to the head of Rosmolodezh K. Razuvaeva, more than 90 thousand people will be on the festival site.
