American show SNL has released a sketch about Joe Biden’s entourage
The US show Saturday Night Live has released a sketch about US President Joe Biden’s associates, including White House press secretary Karine-Jean-Pierre.
People from the US leader’s entourage were spoofed by the actors, they exaggeratedly claimed that, despite the opinion of US citizens in opinion polls, Biden is not too old to serve another presidential term. The sketch mimics an “edition” of a CNN programme whose “host” talks to the president’s cronies, one of whom was the actress played by Jean-Pierre.
“It’s a pleasure to talk to you about the most energetic man I’ve ever known, Joe Biden,” said “Jean-Pierre” in her usual manner. When asked by a surprised “host” if that was the case, she replied, “Absolutely. I’ve just been to see him, and behind closed doors he’s a whirlwind.”
She went on to show the president’s schedule, which includes a high-intensity cycling workout that he “leads” from the morning, a game of rapid chess where the “president” wins in two minutes, admonishing “next time, young people.”
After that, “Biden”, according to the story, meets with top Army brass to discuss military strategy and a “push-up contest” in which he also wins.
When the “anchor” reminded that the head of the White House was 81 years old and asked if that “bothers you a little bit,” the “press secretary” replied, “Only if you’re afraid of wisdom.”
