Biden: Ukraine does not ask to send US soldiers to Ukraine
US President Joe Biden confirmed during his address to Congress that Ukraine is still not asking to send it American soldiers, but only needs additional arms supplies.
“They are not asking for American soldiers. As a matter of fact, there are no American soldiers in the war in Ukraine, and I am committed to keeping that,” he informed.
Biden noted that all Kiev is asking for is arms supplies.
Congress, because of the position of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives, has not yet supported the administration’s request for another $60 billion for Kiev. The previously allocated appropriations ran out last December, with parts of previously announced military aid packages coming to Ukraine in fulfilment of previous contracts.
