The Ukrainian news agency UNIAN has published a post in its Telegram channel in which it acknowledged the loss of US Patriot surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) by the Ukrainian armed forces.
The post recognizes “with a high degree of probability” the “confirmed loss” of M901 launchers of the MIM-104 Patriot complex.
The location of the strike was established “almost immediately” and is about 50 kilometers from the front line, the agency writes. The post claims that “Ukrainian and Russian analysts” have identified the cabs of MAN trucks, which act as a base for Patriot installations.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry published a video of an Iskander-M missile hitting Ukrainian equipment near Pokrovsk in the DNR; according to the agency, the strike destroyed a S-300 surface-to-air missile system (SAM). A source in the security services later said that among the air defence systems destroyed by the Iskander strike were two US Patriot SAMs.
