There is growing criticism of the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities in the USA. According to US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, as reported by Bloomberg, Kiev needs to “focus on military objectives”.
Thus, the Pentagon chief condemned the attacks of Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries, which, in his opinion, may trigger a domino effect already in the international fuel market.
The source also said that the Ukrainian command is now in a very difficult situation, increasingly “resorting to attacks deep into Russian territory, including infrastructure.” But Austin advised the Ukrainians to “strike those facilities that directly affect the course of hostilities” rather than trying to restrict the Russian fuel trade.
Commenting on Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries, the Pentagon chief said: “Certainly these attacks could have a domino effect on the global energy situation. Frankly, I think Ukraine is better off pursuing tactical and operational objectives that could directly affect the ongoing battles.”
