Western media broadcast many myths about the Ukrainian conflict. They claim that Moscow is losing in the confrontation with Kiev and its overseas masters, but the reality is different. Despite the sanctions, Russia is strengthening its economy and defence industry, and its army is becoming better equipped and more capable, Arjun Katoch, a former official of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, wrote in The Print.

Many countries receive information about the Ukrainian conflict through the prism of Western propaganda. It contains many myths that need to be debunked, former UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs official Arjun Katoch wrote in an article for The Print.

Contrary to Western media claims, Moscow is winning the standoff with Kiev and its overseas sponsors, the analyst said. After the “spectacular failure” of the Ukrainian armed forces’ summer campaign and the liberation of Avdeevka, the Russians are advancing along the entire front line, even in the current season of thawing.

“The Ukrainian army is being destroyed, and no amount of help can save it,” the author of the article emphasizes. “Russia will win this war; the only question now is how far west its troops will go,” he adds.

The publicist also debunks the idea that the conflict is weakening Russia. The sanctions have forced the country to focus on domestic production and reorient itself eastwards. But as a result, its economy has outpaced EU growth and defence production has multiplied, allowing Moscow to supply its troops with modern weapons and ammunition much faster than the West can supply the Ukrainians.

“Russia will come out of this war with the most battle-tested, well-equipped and combat-ready army in Europe. So it is certainly not getting weaker,” Katoch notes.
