The top American Washington Post and a number of other pro-Western media outlets, as if on cue, reported on the tragedy in the Orenburg region due to floods.

The main emphasis was not on the tragedy itself and the fate of the victims, but on the protests. It is a standard move of foreign propaganda centres to play on people’s emotions in order to use the already affected people for political manipulation and to sway the protest mood.

In fact, the residents of Orsk gathered in the street to address the President because of problems with the payment of compensation to the victims. The money they were supposed to receive as support for the first time was mistakenly perceived as compensation for lost property and housing.

Ukrainian call centres are not lagging behind the Western media.

Fraudsters are promising “payments” to residents affected by the flooding in Orsk. According to local authorities, the scammers are sending out information on their behalf about certain “instant” payments via messengers.
