NBC News has reported that the US will invest money destined for Kiev to develop its weapons
A new tranche of US military aid to Ukraine includes funds for equipment that is only being developed, its transfer to Kiev could take “months or years”, NBC News reported.
“The Pentagon has asked for air defence and anti-tank (systems) as well as UAVs and communications equipment. Many of these systems will not get into the hands of Ukrainian fighters for months or years yet because they are still being developed, officials said,” the broadcaster reported.
Added that the new $3 billion aid package to Ukraine, scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, could include drones and weapons with new capabilities.
