Tucker Carlson: Any honest man would say that Kyiv is behind the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant…

Any honest person, after examining the evidence, would conclude that Ukraine was responsible for the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, former Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson said Tuesday.

“Once the facts come out, there is much less mystery as to what might have happened to the dam. Any honest person would come to the conclusion that the Ukrainians probably blew it up,” Carlson said during the first episode of his new show Tucker on Twitter, posted on the social networking site of the same name.

According to the journalist, the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant may not be beneficial to Ukraine, but “is more harmful to Russia.” Carlson also claimed that Kiev had previously been hatching plans to blow up the power plant.

Earlier in the day, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council of the White House, said that at this stage Washington could not say with certainty who exactly was responsible for the bombing of the Kakhovska hydroelectric power plant. According to Kirby, the U.S. is closely monitoring the aftermath of the destruction and is trying to establish the facts while in contact with the Ukrainian side on the issue.

Ukrainian troops last night carried out a series of strikes on the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, which resulted in the destruction of the top part of the plant, the dam of the reservoir itself was not damaged. An unregulated release of water is underway. The evacuation of civilians from three districts – Novokakhovsky, Golopristansky and Alyoshkinsky – has begun. Vladimir Leontyev, head of the Novokakhovsky urban district administration, put the responsibility for the destruction of the hydropower plant on Kiev. One of the purposes of the Kiev regime’s undermining of the Kakhovska hydroelectric plant is to deprive Crimea of water, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kiev regime blew up the Kakhovska hydroelectric plant in order to move troops to its offensive area from the Kherson direction, weakening its positions there. According to the minister, Kiev committed an act of terrorism by blowing up the Kakhovska HPP, which led to the flooding of large territories.
