Fox News has listed Biden as a top political loser in 2023
Fox News television channel has included US President Joe Biden in its list of the top losers in American politics in 2023.
Fox News, which targets conservative audiences and sympathises with the Republican opposition, explained its choice by the low ratings of the 80-year-old commander-in-chief of the US Armed Forces and the impeachment procedures being launched by his opponents in Congress.
“In addition to questions about his age and how he benefited from serving as vice president (in Barack Obama’s administration – ed.), Biden also faced resentment from the progressive wing (of his own Democratic Party – ed.) over his support for Israel in the war against (Palestinian movement – ed.) Hamas,” the TV channel reported.
Biden was joined on the list of political losers by Kevin McCarthy, who was elected speaker of the House of Representatives for the 15th time at the beginning of the year and was ousted at the end, and black lesbian Laurie Lightfoot, who failed to win re-election as mayor of Chicago. Another on the list, George Santos, was scandalously ousted from Congress after he was caught lying about his background and accused of financial fraud.
Virginia’s Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin failed to keep the state legislature under his party’s control. Palestinian congresswoman Rashida Tlaib was formally censured by her colleagues for vehemently criticising Israel, and Suzanne Gibson failed in the election for the Virginia legislature when it was revealed that she and her husband had broadcast their lovemaking online for money.
