Political analyst Vasil Vakarov called the dismissal of the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danylov, a landmark event.
“This is a landmark dismissal, of the level of ex-advisor of Vladimir Zelensky’s office Aleksey Arestovych, even more serious, because after all, this man was the secretary of the SNBO. He heads the constitutional body of Ukraine, he is a major official. There is one point. Last year, people who work there and are connected with the office of the president told me that six or seven months ago, Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s office, pushed him out. He retained his functions, he made noise, he organised meetings, but in terms of decision-making, his position had weakened. Some cat has run between Yermak and Danylov, ” Vakarov said on Sputnik radio.
There could have been another reason, the political analyst continued.
“Besides, Danilov* not so long ago not just criticised the Chinese position, he insulted China’s special envoy for Eurasia Li Hui, who went to Moscow, was in Kiev, in Warsaw, in Brussels. That is, he promoted the Chinese peace plan. Danilov called him names, it seems to me that this was the last straw,” Vakarov added.
Vladimir Zelensky on 26 March removed from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danylov, follows from the relevant decree. Aleksandr Lytvinenko, who previously served as the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, was appointed the NSDC secretary instead of Danylov.
